Pastels in the Painted Desert Workshop

Come paint on location the glorious landscapes of Ghost Ranch (near Abiquiu, NM). Through demonstration and individual instruction you will be guided through a process to help you obtain confidence and pleasure from painting outdoors and in the studio. Paint the rich colors of the mesas, sunsets, and O’Keeffe’s red hills. Learn how to capture the changing light through value, color, and composition.

We will paint landscapes and still life. Classes are structured with enough direction to ensure success and enough freedom to allow for creative expression. You will need to bring your own pastels and paper, a supply list is available here.  You can see more of my art at www.paintandsimple.com

These are the same dates as the bluegrass festival!  So we will get to hear amazing music at night, and meet lots of amazing musicians. They only allow a couple of non-bluegrass classes on campus during this time, we are so lucky!!!!!

Arrive Tuesday May 14th after 3pm. Class Wednesday May 15 – Saturday May 18. Depart Sunday May 19 at 10am

You can stay off campus, or you can reserve these cottages here at the ranch, at a better rate than you can rent them through the ranch!
